Child Protection & Safeguarding Children Awareness is designed for carers and everyone who works, or has contact, with children, young people and /or their families an introduction to safeguarding and to raise awareness of the below areas
COURSE CONTENT:
- Key Legislation and guidance
- What Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child means
- Exercise Duty of Care acting as a Good Parent
- Definitions of abuse and recognise common indicators of abuse
- How to respond to concerns and who to contact
- How to keep children and young people safe
- What to do if a child makes an allegation or disclosure
- Recording and reporting concerns for welfare and who to report this to in the wider processes when this is recorded and reported
