WELCOME
This page will outline the training available and the process for applying and booking the training courses. Holistic Approach provides a wide range of mandatory and supplementary training packages and consultancy to enhance and exceed the Quality Standards. Training is designed for children’s residential staff, support staff, teachers, Foster Carers and their Managers.
ABOUT OUR TRAINERS
Training courses are delivered by members if the Holistic Approach training pool who are experienced trainers and current practitioners with a combined total of over 50 years’ involvement of directly working with children and young people in the care sector. Their expertise and knowledge can therefore by utilised to enhance the quality of your training.
FLEXIBLE & BESPOKE TRAINING PACKAGES
Additional courses may be inserted into the Holistic Approach training portfolio in response to changes within the social care sector to ensure regulatory compliance with regulatory inspectorates to address any areas of development and or identified training needs of any particular organisation working or caring for children and young people.
COMPLIANCE
All our courses are compliant with health and safety executive guidelines and designed to help you meet and exceed the Quality Standards expected by Ofsted. It is the responsibility of all agencies to ensure all their staff have the correct skills and knowledge to be effective in their role and therefore Holistic Approach provide a wide range of mandatory, Supplementary and or Special Interest courses. We believe that there’s nothing more important than ensuring that all care staff have the highest possible level of training and support to safeguard and care for children and young people to help you achieve best outcomes for them.
VENUES – LOCATION
We have a range of venues within the Greater Manchester Area that we are able to utilise. Although we recognise that external training may drive up costs. We are known for delivering onsite training to reduce provider costs, which proves ideal for businesses and staff groups of 6 or more, but for smaller numbers of delegates venues may be provided externally for the delivery of training and multi-disciplinary training with other providers within the social care sector. These training courses will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Dependent upon the type of course, the venue and or location some courses may be restricted to the number of candidates allocated per course. Whomever books the course must have authorisation from the individual responsible for finances. Once in receipt of funds then course placement is guaranteed
COSTS & AFFORDABLE PACKAGES
Currently there is a charge of £36 per person for individually booked training courses. Packages are available to ensure that we remain competitively priced. For certain courses there is a set flat fee for the days training which may meet the needs of organisation’s with more than 6 candidates. For a combination of training courses and repeated business we can discuss our competitive pricing structures with multi training courses or your choice being delivered as part of your organisational bespoke training programs.
EXPECTATIONS & IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The training venue should be quiet and undisturbed. Staff should not be expected to be on duty. Staff attending should remain for the entire length of the session.
QUALIFICATION & ASSESSMENT
Candidates may be expected to engage in a number of group discussions and activities. Our experienced trainers will be on hand to help guide participants through these training sessions and Training certificates will be awarded upon full completion and attendance of the course.
FEEDBACK & EVALUATION
It is essential for the quality of training that feedback is obtained. All trainees will be expected to complete an evaluation sheet following attendance on training events. This will allow us to continually review and evaluate the training we provide ensuring this is able to meet the changing needs of the social care sector.
SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN
Anyone who works with children and/or their families is required to complete an Introductory Safeguarding training course every 3 years. Those with ‘Designated’ or ‘Named’ responsibilities for ‘Child Protection’ or ‘Safeguarding Lead for Children’ should receive refresher training every 2 years. “Working Together to safeguard children and young people”.
COURSE CANCELLATION OR NON ATTENDANCE CANDIDATES
All candidates must cancel the course themselves via their manager via holistic approach training website or email to trainer. Currently a charge of £36 per day will be incurred in respect of confirmed delegates who fail to attend, without providing five working days’ notice, unless exceptional personal circumstances apply (work commitments excluded).
ATTENDANCE & REGISTRATION
Please note that by accepting a place on a Holistic Approach training course all trainees agree to login to works email account prior to training and print off all training materials (if provided). Venue details and directions are available to print off or access prior to the course. Registration is usually from 9am and courses will begin at 9.30 am prompt and finish at 4pm. Delegates will be expected to remain for the duration of the course. The Holistic Approach trainers reserve the right to refuse entry to any delegate who arrives 15 minutes or more after the course start time.
Tea and coffee refreshments are available on all courses.
Delegate should make their own arrangements for lunch as most courses have a lunch break of 45 minutes.
